The season, like others, is a season of hits and misses, but it makes up for the misses with some of the greatest episodes in recent memory. I'll get the bad ones out of the way first: "A Million Little Fibers" turns the focus onto Towely, and him alone. He's a hilarious, high as a kite towel when with the boys, but on his own in an episode dedicated to him, it doesn't deliver like the others. In the episode, Towely decides to write his memoirs. When Oprah supports his book, it becomes a bestseller, until it's learned he lied when saying he's human. Meanwhile, Oprah's vagina and butthole are planning to retaliate for not getting enough attention. The ideas funny, but when on screen, you just find it to be rediculous, even by SP's standards.
Other not so great episodes are "Stanley's Cup," in which Stan is hired to coach a pee-wee hockey team much to his dad's chagrin, and "Hell on Earth 2006." These episodes are good and serve some purpose, but not to the point where they rank as "hits."
As for the hits, there's plenty to make this an excellent season. The season starts off with a bang with "The Return of Chef," where Chef returns after spending time with the "Super Adventure Club," who secretly molest little boys, and brainwashed Chef. The episode comes after Isaac Hayes decided he'll quite after this episode because of Matt and Trey's scientologist episode. The hilarity of the episode is, besides seeing Chef get ripped to pieces and crap his pants, is that when talking about the "SAC" screwing with Chef's mind, any person can see they're actually referring to Hayes and his religion, which is genius. It's like a big "f*ck you" and I loved it.
Another great single episode is "Make Love, Not Warcraft," where the creators successfully combine the graphics of World of Warcraft with the animated style of South Park, much like they did with anime in "Good Times With Weapons." The episode is hilarious, and explores how people spend so much time playing MMORPGs. The episode took a chance because the show could have lost supporters who are also hard-core gamers, but the show doesn't just point out the ridiculousness of the games, but supports them, and fans shoudln't be offended by it, especially when it's so goddamn hilarious.
The season also delivers two two-part stories, the "Cartoon Wars" and "Go God Go" two-parters. Both of these are great. Cartoon Wars is action-packed and excites us with the fact that Family Guy is ridiculed, but still acknowledged as a good show. Cartman sets out to put an end to Family Guy, and even Bart Simpson is featured, who the creators make clear is not as evil as Cartman. Seeing other shows in South Park's animated style is great.
Go God Go is really graphic. Not with violence, as the show often is, but with Mrs. Garrison's sex scenes, proving even more that Matt and Trey don't care what controversy they stir up. Cartman wants a Nintendo Wii so bad, he freezes himself, only to end up 500 years in the future, where a world of atheists is at war. The story is hilarious.
Overall, this tenth season does not disapoint. Matt and Trey continue to deliver the laughs and controversy, and I love every single moment of it. Keep up the good work guys.
