The government has sealed off an apartment complex in Los Angeles. The residents were never seen or heard from again. No details. No witnesses. No evidence. Until now.
This is the type of film that ten minutes into it you think that you are going to hate it, but then you realize that it has drawn you in and you become engrossed in the story and the characters. The acting in the film was excellent, especially by Jennifer Carpenter. To me this film ended up being more of a character study than horror. I think it had the right amount of blood and gore because any more would have taken away from the movie’s overall story. The movie stays with you for some time afterward and you begin thinking what if or could this actually happen?
I rated this film 3.5 stars which in my rating system is above average. If there was a way to rate it 3.75 stars, that is what I would have done. I feel it is a little better than above average but not quite excellent. If you see this film, watch it on its own merits. Do not compare it to the original or any other film and I think you will like it.
