THE GOOD
A real fun movie that'll make you laugh for an hour and a half.
THE BAD
No special features whatsoever. A good movie without some extras and special features in the DVD is like having sex... without a partner. It's just not the same.
THE FEATURE
When I first saw this movie in the theater, I thought I was going to see a fairly funny movie but nothing special. Although I can still say the movie is nothing special, it is much more than FAIRLY funny. I left the theater with tears in my eyes due to laughing so much. I personally think this is one of the top three comedies of 2008.

What? Is that too boastful? Well, the type of comedy one likes is very much preference. Some like the dark and smart comedies such as Burn After Reading. Others like goofy comedies such as Disaster Movies (why ? I have no idea). And still others like action comedies such as the Pineapple Express and Tropic Thunder. Me? As long as the movie makes me laugh consistently (no sporadic chuckles here and there)... I mean consistently throughout the movie, I'm happy. And this movie did that for me.

The movie begins by introducing us to two people who are oblivious to each others existence. Joy McNally (played by Cameron Diaz) is a driven career woman who is engaged but when her fiance grows tired of her uptight attitude; he breaks up with her. Now she wants to drink her sorrows away with her best friend Tipper (Lake Bell) in Las Vegas. Meanwhile, Jack Fuller (played by Ashton Kutcher) is a guy who likes to goof off and his father (Treat Williams) is not keen with his attitude. Fuller's dad, who also happens to be his boss at work, gets tired of his laziness and fires him. Feeling down, Jack decides to go to Las Vegas with HIS best friend, Hater (Rob Corddry), to simply have a blast. Due to an unforeseen computer error, the four meet each other and share a limo down the Las Vegas Strip. Then, unwisely, decide to have one wild night together before they go their separate ways. The next morning, Jack and Joy find out that Vegas, alcohol, and wedding chapels don't mix.

Joy and Jack realize they got married during that wild and crazy night and don't remember a thing. Both decide it was a mistake and agree to get an annulment once they get back home, but they hit a snag when Jack wins three million dollars on a slot machine using Joy's quarter. The ownership of the three million immediately comes into question especially since they want their marriage annulled. When they decide to take it to court, the judge decides that they should remain married for 6 months and attend counseling sessions. This is where the fun begins. Both are forced to live together and must show their counselor they are trying to make the marriage work ,but all the while, both try their hardest to force the other to just quit the marriage and forfeit the money. The sneaky methods that are attempted are flat out hilarious. The rest of the movie, the unhappy pair try to undermine each other and get their hands on the money -- falling in love along the way.

The acting was superb. Cameron Diaz and Ashton Kutcher have a great connection. What is it with us enjoying seeing Kuther with older women? Demi... and now Cameron... be it on screen though. Hmm. Anyway, even though the two interact quite well, it was Bell and Corddry that flat out made me crack up. The two played the "I hate you, but I really Like you" parts perfectly. Their lines were hilarious. When Hater calls out Bell's character's name calling her "Hey Stripper" instead of "Tipper" just to spite her is just flat out funny. And the best line of the movie comes courtesy of Bell. When Tipper "junk punches" Joy's ex-boyfriend in the nuts, he falls to his knees and asks "Why?". Tipper points at his face and says "You know why!". It may not sound too funny now... but watch the movie and you'll know what I mean.

Overall, the movie is quite funny and definitely worth a watch. You'll be in stitches during most of the movie. If I was grading this on the movie alone, the overall rating would be a FOUR. Hope you watch it and have a blast doing so.
THE EXTRAS
Pretty much nothing. All we get here are three trailers. The trailers are of the movies "Deal", "Charlie Bartlett", and "An Inside Look at Marley and Me". That's it. Absolutely pathetic.
THE VIDEO
The film is presented in widescreen format, enhanced for widescreen televisions.
THE AUDIO
The sound is handled through the Dolby 5.1 Surround Sound format in three versions... English, French and Spanish. You also have a choice of either English or Spanish subtitles. Sorry no French.
THE PACKAGE
The front has its two stars Cameron Diaz and Ashton Kutcher holding each other and having a good time in the photo shoot for this thing.. The back has pretty much the same thing only this time with money flying around them. The synopsis is also located here as is in most DVDs. You also get three photo stills of the movie. None which really catch the eye.
THE FINAL WORD
The extras in this DVD really suck, but the movie is very funny and worth a watch. Is the DVD worth buying? That's a tough question. Probably only if you rent the movie first... like it, then buy it. Because if you don't like the movie, then its not worth buying since the movie is pretty much all you're getting. My suggestion is rent it, but don't buy it. The movie is a four star for me... but this DVD gets two stars. Next time I'll rent the Extended Jackpot Special Edition. I'm sure its got more goodies than this piece of crap I just rented.
