There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Twilight Zone.

has a kid reruns if this show ( both in english and dubbed in french) captured my curiosity and help shape my mind . I still think this is one of the best if not the best t.v show created and one of the most inteligent one , It's sci-fi , thriller ,horror , fantasy , comedy , drama character study all on in one. Some episodes could and can still hold there own has artisticly written and shot shorts. I always thought Rod Serlings and his crew of writers were pretty bold for the times , they kinda tackle some pretty contraversial and shocking stuff .

The first season pretty set the tone right of the bat , with is mix of different subjects and genre , and the used of really talented actors of the times .But even if it delt with different subjects is main goal was always achieved : To make you think ( sometimes even days after) and even sometimes question your beleifs . Some of the most memorable episodes of the entire season are in season 1 , it was kinda hard to only come up with a fav5 outa 36 all great episodes but here it is

5-The monster are due on maple street : inexplicable events cause the residents of maple strett to suspect one and other and turn on each other , this in my opinion will always kinda be really relevant and deals with character traits that existed tru out history and still do. This also has been parodied a lot , if it wasnt for this episode there would no alien duo in The simpson's

4-What you need : a 2 bit violent criminal thinks he has found the key to life by having found a old man that can give someone the thing they need most at the moment , but he should be carefull with someone who has that kind of power , they might give themsleves what they need too.

3-A nice place to visit : after beeing shot to death a a petty low morals crimal encounters a jolly fellow that can grant him anything he wishs for . You all know were this going , still one of the best of it's kind

2-Execution : a mean cowboy is set to hang but get transported to the 60's by a scientist and his time machine . The scientist quickly realise that even if it's a man it's also a savage beast unleash in a unknown wilderness , This is a great tale of karma and a good character study , suprisingly a bit violent

1-Time enough at last : A bookworm dreams of having all the time in the world to be left alone to read and acheives it by beeing the sole survivor of a nuclear atack .but dreaming doesnt mean planing for everything. One of the most memorable and most parodied episode ever, great build up for a unforgetable ending

this set also contains great features , it was a blast watching Rod Serlings video sales pitch to company investors and foreign stations . but one of the most entertaining thing was an episode of Serlings game show the Liars club , really hilarious even to this day

It's also a blast to realise and discover how many recent actors and actress look and sound like other actors from a diferent generations
