THE FEATURE
It seems that any show that is able to stick around for more than three years is bound to be a classic. With demanding audiences and unreal expectations, the power networks go through shows like their nothing. For the elite few there comes a strong fan base and powerful meaning. "That 70's Show" has more than survived, it has paved the way for retro inspired shows and even fashions of our time.
But why exactly is "That 70's Show" so good? The episodes aren't that original, and the episodes go for similar laughs, but there's something that hit me when watching the 5th season. I realized that although the characters are over the top and some of the situations ridiculous, I can still relate. Every character has a little representation of my personality and the ordeals they struggle or laugh about are so familiar. Parental tension, up and down relationships, and completely irrational fun, are all the facets of our daily lives.
Fueled by an excellent cast and aided by a hilarious representation of the era, "That 70's Show" will continue to light our sets for years to come. The DVD is a must see, including some of my favorite episodes such as "Ramble On," when Donna buys Eric a ring that Fez believes has super powers. No matter how many times you watch the episodes, you'll always find something original to laugh about, and trust me, it doesn't get much more original than this.

THE EXTRAS
The special features include promo spots on all episodes, a "Season 5 in 5 Minutes" feature, and a 70's flashback with Wilmer Valderrama and Danny Masterson. The 70's flashbacks offer a humerous yet serious outlook on the show and it's production. Wilmer goes on to prove that even characters like Fez are a great representative of the decade that so many can relate with. I wish that the extras would have had some in depth material from the creators, or possibly some more cast members.
THE VIDEO
Picture quality is excellent and shown in Full Frame. After watching the episodes I realized how bad my cable connection truly is. The picture is crisp and colorful, something that DVD's provide us with.
THE AUDIO
The audio of the DVD is provided by Dolby Digital Surround. I still can't get over the music of the catchy theme. You'll love just sitting down and experiencing the theme in all the glory of your entertainment system.
THE PACKAGE
The DVD's box is as colorful and creative as the show itself. Containing colors and photos that catch the true feel of the show, the box is an excellent piece to add to any collection.
THE FINAL WORD
You should go and buy "That 70's Show" season 5 because it's an instant classic, one that defines not only the retro 70's, but current decades as well. Oh, and if you don't have seasons one through four, you should probably aso add those to your "must have" list.
