"Goldfinger", the best of the best. Released back in 1964, "Goldfinger" is considered the pinnacle of spy films. The story follows Bond as he himself is following billionaire Auric Goldfinger, who plans on blowing up Fort Knox with nuclear radiation.
While following Goldfinger, Bond meets an array of characters. Some of which are known throught, not only the Bond universe, but just the world in general. Oddjob, Goldfinger's personal caddy and "henchman", and who can forgot Honor Blackman starring as P*ssy Galore. You can't find characters like that anymore.
Overall Goldfinger is the definitive Bond film. Always replicated but never duplicated. A
Diamonds Are Forever
The final, officially, and sixth film by Sir Sean Connery was excellent. Not to mention "Diamonds are Forever" or "DAR" has one of the most intriguing and interesting storyline of a Bond film to date.
The whole plot mainly centers around Bond going after some stolen diamonds and the smugglers. Plain and simple. Along the way he runs into Tiffany Case, played by Jill St. John, and of course none other then Blofeld. Blofeld, played by Charles Gray (yes the guy from Rocky Horror Picture Show), is probably the only negative to this film. Although he didn't do a bad job he no where lives up to Telly Savalas and Donald Pleasence versions.
Diamonds Are Forever is one of the better James Bond films. It also makes old 70's Las Vegas the perfect backdrop for a spy film. Cause what happens in Vegas stays Vegas. B+
The Man with the Golden Gun
Roger Moore & Christopher Lee starring together in the same film. Sounds good right? Wrong. The Man with the Golden Gun altough not terrible, is not the best in the series. Although it manages to give us two classic villains. Mr Scaramanga (Christopher Lee) and Nick Nack (Herve Villechaize).
Not only does it have a forgettable story line, it also has a forgettable Bond girl. Well two to be exact. Sure there are a few classic scenes here and there, but it overall doesn't really give us what we want. Something with style... if only Connery stayed around for two more. C-
The Living Daylights
Timothy Dalton's first is also his best. Grante dhe only did two films, both of which weren't all that bad. This first feature by the short lived actor, begins with Bond investigating the deaths of fellow agents. While detecting he meets Soviet defetcor, Georgi Koskov (Jeroen Krabbe) who informs Bond and MI6 that Genreal Pushkin, of the KGB, is killing off the western agents. When Goergi is kidnapped it send Bond on a mission that covers Morroco and Afghanistan.
Now the film has a good story line and good action sequences. What else do you want? Althoug the film lack some "Bond style" its an overall great Bond flick, and would recommend it to any fan of the Spy genre. B+
The World is Not Enough
Borsnans third film, just before the horendus Die Another Day but also after Tomorrow Never Dies, World is not Enough is, once again, a terrible bond flick. The story is stupid, the acting is ridiculous, and the Bond girl. Denise Richards playing a Nuclear Chemicist named Christmas Jones. Sounds like a porn star to me.
The theme song, just like the band name, is Garbage. It's not nessecarily that Brosnan was a bad Bond, just his movies were. Well except for Goldeneye. F
