THE GOOD
The Dudeson's have an easy going attitude that should make them appeal to a lot of Americans.
THE BAD
I don't know that I would call these guys "stuntment."
THE FEATURE
Basically, the plot of The Dudesons Movie is we see these four guys who hail from the Arctic performing a litany of "stunts" that usually go wrong. The fun of course is seeing them eat it and then pick themselves up again. There really isn't any kind of a narrative thread, other than that this movie is supposed to introduce us to the personalities of Jarppi, Jukka, Jarno and HP. Apparently, this group of dudes was around before Jackass and the fact that we have people like Bam and Steve-O along for the ride, shows us how easily all of these characters can play in the same sandbox.
THE EXTRAS
Photo Gallery
This photo gallery presents an assortment of Dudesons' pictures both from this show and from when they were younger. I guess these guys have been friends for quite awhile. While I didn't notice anything too special about any of these pictures, it does seem like from their earliest days these guys were meant to be doing this.
Extra Scenes
Nine scenes make up this segment with titles like "The Babysitters" and "Chillin Out in the Park." Each of these segments is put together as it's own segment, which I thought was a nice approach because these could just play as random scenes if they didn't have any form added to them.
Commentary Tracks
I enjoyed this because it seemed like even The Dudesons were at a loss for what they should talk about. It just seemed like they had gathered in a room to talk about the movie and as they settled in to watch it, they couldn't think of anything to say. I guess this goes back to the idea of how it's probably not a good idea to do commentary tracks over doc*mentaries, but I guess these guys should be given credit for trying.

THE VIDEO
Widescreen. Shot on video they have edited this movie in such a way that it always seems like it is beginning. This happens so much it is almost jarring. At least the Jackass movie moved at such a pace that it seemed to build up to something (although I am still unsure what that is), but this film seemed to never get going and I can't help but think it's look had something to do with it.
THE AUDIO
It doesn't say what kind of sound is used on this DVD but if you have seen an episode of Jackass then you know what to expect. Quick editing, a "stunt," fast music, more quick editing, adinfinitum... . There isn't too much I can say about the audio other than it does keep the movie moving, even when you realize nothing is really happening.
THE PACKAGE
The front cover features all The Dudesons against a white background. The fact that Jarrpi really has darts hanging off his belly probably should grab a few people's attention. The back cover gives us some shots from the movie, a description of what this DVD offers, "Bonus Stuff" and some technical specs. This is the kind of thing that if you're into it, you're really into it and if you're not than it doesn't matter anyway.
THE FINAL WORD
Honestly, I am not that big a fan of Jackass so this Dudesons Movie really didn't do anything for me. Truthfully, after awhile, seeing guys perform "stunts" and get hurt gets rather old. The fact that this movie didn't have anything else going for it made it play like a one trick pony. Then, when the Jackass guys get involved in the fun, things don't seem to get any better.
Overall, fans of Jackass should really take to The Dudesons Movie. Myself? I was left wondering is that all there is?
