Chappelle's Show: The Lost Episodes - Uncensored DVD: Review By kaismith
EVERYTHING!!!
Dave Chappelle is the man. The lost Episodes are witty and hilarious, and provide the ridiculously funny sketches as expected and then some. Also the special features can't be overlooked.

THE BAD
Hate to be s biter but I gotta say it ...this DVD is ballin'!!!
THE FEATURE
Sorry for the vulgarity but Dave Chappelle is on bad Mofo. The Lost Episodes are just as awesome as the show and Chappelle isn't even there to host.
After two successful seasons, the long awaited three "Lost Episodes" are hosted by costars Charlie Murphy and Donnell Rawlings. These new installments still push the boundaries even further comically making comments on the social and political and of course the oddities of race. He even comments on his success that has come with the show (this clip had my stomach in knots) in which his wife and son make an appearances in. And I can't forget the parodies of the The Munsters and Lil Jon, MTV cribs, Howard Dean and Andre 3000 among others. Celebrity appearances as always include Spike Lee and Susan Sarandon.

THE EXTRAS
Unaired Sketches
Mmmmm ... I smell controversy. This is the unaired episode Chappelle never aired because he wasn't sure if the sketch was promoting or debunking stereotypes. Murphy and Rawlings open the floor up to the audience for commentary.
Deleted Scenes and Bloopers
Hil- freakin -larious. I can't explain it any better than that. Usually the deleted scenes were meant to be cut and are pretty much a waste of time in my opinion to watch, but the deleted scenes are awesome. Back to back laughs!
The only problems I had was with the bloopers I didn't need more than a minute and a half of that little boy wailing. WAYYYY too painful.
The Making of Chappelle's Show's Season 3ish
A parody of MTV's Fabulous life of..." TV shows (complete with the voice over), walks viewers through the preparation for the new season with Murphy, Rollins and co-creator Neal Brennan. There is an awesome moment with Murphy and Rollins just cold ranking on one another "behind the scenes." Awesome addition to the supplemental features.
Audio Commentary
Musical Performances
Another great part of the Chappelle Show was the musical spots. In this featurette there are two performances one smooth love song by John Legend and Dead Prez. Of course Dave has to add some humor so there are small sketches worked into the Legend performance. Dead Prez just rocks out! No Dave appearance!!

THE VIDEO
Full Screen - 1.33:1 as originally aired on TV. Awesome costumes. Dope sets!
THE AUDIO
Dolby Digital 2.0 Surround. From an audio standpoint everything is pristine. The music is awesome as always and the audio levels are great. I didn't have to turn up the volume above normal to hear.
THE PACKAGE
Looking hip in matching grey hat and blazer ensemble (its ok to laugh), Chappelle looks off to the right, lips pursed as if he was about to say something when the image was taken. Maybe a bit of symbolism meaning that he is not finishing yet. On the reverse, four scene selections, a brief plot synopsis and bonus features list.
THE FINAL WORD
This is wild, son! After watching this DVD, I was wheezing from laughing so much. If you absolutely love Dave as much as I do there is no question that this should have been on your shelf weeks ago.
So go out and get it..... NOW!!!!
