Now this underated hiden gem comes from the same stop-animation company that did Rudolph the red nose rein deer and Frosty the snowman .
I thought for years i had dream seeing this once has a young lad or that my mom smoke to much pot in the house and i had hallucinated this flick .
This is quite quirky and hilarous , theres some really funny punch lines almost everything that comes out of Dracula and Frankenstein's wife ( voiced by the always entertaining phylis Dyler) is hilarious . The voices the actors used are hilarious by themselves , great casting there. And some of the physical humor that is in it still creates genuine laugh
Theres also a great orchastrated score in this , a bit eerie by times but mostly remeniscent of the 60's and of the Universal mosnter films
It doesnt come without flaws , the story could of used some tweeking specially by the end , some scenes are a bit repetetive . And the animation could be considered quite out dated by some. And I would of wanted a lot more of Boris Karloff has Dr.Frankenstein , i felt he dint get enough screen/voice time
But if your like me and still watch Rudolph the red nose rain deer and old stop animstion Christmas flick and you adored almost all of the Universals Monster films ( Dracula , Werewolf , Frankenstein ect..) Then this could become a Halloween sure watch . Am so glad I finnaly got my hands on a copy of it , Mad moster party is oddly appealing and charming , it could be comsidered shlock cheese by some but if your fans of the genres I mention above this will just turn into a monster madness candy
has for the features on this dvd pretty slim , mainly technical stuff , only thing to watch is a trailer , there isnt even a audio comentary or small featurette , shame

I used to love this when I was little and almost forgot about it. In its own way it's a children's classic.
