THE GOOD
Everything. The movie itself is action-packed and fast paced and the special features will actually have you interested just as the movie does.
THE BAD
Nada.
THE FEATURE
It doesn't matter what you think of Michael Bay or if you like his movies. The bottom line here is that this movie is good-not just good, it's great. The fact that Steven Speilberg is executive producer makes it even more great. These two were born to do this movie. Michael Bay is known for his out-of-this-world special effects, and Speilberg knows a thing or two about alien visitors, having directed Close Encounters of the Third Kind and War of the Worlds. It makes perfect sense for the two of them to do this type of movie together.
Transformers is about a teenager named Sam Witwicky who buys his first car(which happens to be the transforming Bumblebee) to impress a very, hot girl in his class, named Mikayla. Sam soon realizes that he is caught in the middle of a war between the Autobots and the evil Decepticons, who are both after Sam for a pair of glasses that belonged to his great-grandfather, and hold the location of a cube that could transform all of Earth's technology into evil robots. Of course, the Autobots want to find this cube before the Decepticons, who want to use it to enslave mankind and control the universe with a massive army.
It's not just all special effects, though-there's actually a story behind it, and there are many moments with the humans that made me laugh out loud, whether they're alone or with the Transformers. From Sam's parents asking him if he was having some "alone, happy, time" in his bedroom to Anthony Anderson, who's just plain funny, there is plenty of story and humor mixed in with the action.
Shia provides most of that humor, as he portrays teenager Sam Witwicky (excuse me if I spelt that wrong)perfectly. His co-star and romantic interest in the movie, sexy Megan Fox, is also good, but mostly provides something for the guys to be interested in when the robots aren't being shown, and she does. I never even heard of Fox before this movie, but now I know to watch for her.
That brings me to the robots, the main stars of the film. There isn't too much backstory to them, but enough so people who don't know too much about Transformers won't be confused, including a breif look at thier home planet.
Starscream could have had more screen time, but it makes for a sequel and it doesn't take away from the pure awesomeness that is this movie. Overall, Transformers is a great movie for all to enjoy and you'll want to enjoy it again and again.

THE EXTRAS
Disc one holds the flick and some usual commentary, but disc two is where the extra special features are at. This disc includes features with sub-features...yep, there's lots packed into it, and it's worth your money.
Our World-
With this, you can choose from several features that take you through the grand world of Transformers via interviews and never-before-seen on-set footage. The filmmaker in me screamed with joy.
Thier War-
Like "Our World," this feature leads you to a group of sub-features that get more in depth to the world of the Autobots and Decepticons, witnessing the processes in bringing these robots in disguise to life. The fan in me screamed with joy.
More Than Meets The Eye-
This feature takes you to the featuette on the making of the Scorpinok desert attack. It's interesting and fun to watch.

THE VIDEO
*Widescreen Version Enhanced for 16:9 TVs
One of the major highlights of the film is seeing the robots transform, which is probably one of the best achievements in visual arts in a movie next to 300 and Spider-Man 3, especially Optimus Prime. The effects are astounding, which is no surprise with a Bay film.

THE AUDIO
THE SOUND:
*Dolby Digital: English/French/Spanish 5.1 Surround
Sounds awesome and the voicework with the robots is incredible.

THE PACKAGE
The slide-over cover is clear with a gray border and the Transformers logo, so the picture on the front(Optimus Prime) and back(Megatron) of the case is seen through the slide-over. It's a nice design. Inside, instead of the usual "flap" with the disc on it and the other disc on the case's inside cover, this package has both discs on both of the inside covers. It's a unique package.
THE FINAL WORD
Awesome special effects and action, humor, sexy Megan Fox, and not to mention those giant robots that we all know and love...what's not to love? And that's just the movie. The special features and overall package of the discs make this the ultimate DVD package and is a must own.
