Up and coming Miami executive plant manager Lucy Hill (Renee' Zellweger) voluntarily leaves her comforts of home to travel to bitterly cold New Ulm, Minnesota to downsize Munck foods by cutting their workforce in half and refitting the plant with new automated technology. In doing so she alienates the locals and eventually befriends them during her time in Minnesota.

The Good: Harry Connick, Jr. plays Ted Mitchell, the local Union representative and citizen of New Ulm assigned the task of getting a new contract. At first he despises Lucy and her pompas demeanor, but comes to falling for her as she warms to his community. J.K. Simmons, plays Stu Kopenhafer, plant foreman, he becomes Lucy's achilles heel at first making sure she feels unwelcomed coming up with some memorable quotes.Siobhan Fallon plays Blanche Gunderson, Lucy's secretary and tour guide of New Ulm.

The Bad: Renee Zellweger and her smile, everytime she attempted to smile as she starts to feel at home in the New Ulm community she looked like she was in pain with eyes squinting. Is it plastic surgery?? This was more of a Sandra Bullockesque role which I was not convinced of her character.
