I rented this film as I am tired of the Hollywood template. High budget effects ans predictibale, weak plots.

Return of the Curse was original, creative and dark. But it wasnt a gore/slasher movie. Just plain creepy. I watched it twice and picked up on things that I didnt recognize the first time. This indie director has potential.

Have you seen Sleep Disorder? I saw some clips on his youtube website. Wow. What a difference in all-around film quality, from what I can gather.

Thanks, makes sense. Chris Penney sounds like a very talented guy. It was interesting to read that this movie is actually a sequel to Sleep Disorder.

I've rented this film, and I was especially amazed at the complexity of the storyline. I saw an intrview with him on the Dead Harvey (sp) website, and found that he really, honestly is an indie filmmaker, not "indie" in the sense that there's "only" a few million dollars to throw around. This guy does it all with a literal handfull for people and does all the writing, shooting, lighting, sound, editing by himself. Pretty impressive. I'm interested to see what else he has up his sleeve. Not sure about the NC-17 rating. Language, maybe? One actress drops the F-bomb a gazillion times.

Just noticed it is rated NC-17, since it does not have the blood and gore, why?

Never heard of it, but I'll check it out. I'm getting tired of all the gore in movies.
