some people don't know how to appreciate camp in the form of hammy acting, over-the-top storylines and funny, occasionally predictable horror but i am not one of those people.

some people don't know how to appreciate keeping a tradition alive and will automatically switch to hate-mode when a movie aligns itself with movies from their youth, just because it is new.

again, i'm not one of those people.

creepshow 3, it seems to me, was made for the same audience that grew up with creepshows 1 and 2 and by "the same audience" i mean literally the exact same audience, as in the same people who watched those movies as kids and are now in their 20s and 30s (i.e. me) and stars (among other people) a great (in my opinion) under-rated (again, in my opinion) actor whose imdb page i keep an eye on so that i can keep up with movies, by the name of AJ Bowen, who you may recognize from The Signal (which you probably hated if you are a c*nt) and House of the Devil where he got to play alongside the great Tom Nooney.

This movie, like it's predecessors, is an anthology horror film which tells five (or was it six?) loosely inter-related stories that seem to all take place in the same day or so and includes horror-favorite themes such as mad scientists, multiple dimensions, bratty high school girls, killer hookers, murder, mayhem, talking radios and pimps and i had a blast watching this with my girlfriend laughing at all the over-acting which i decided was so noticeably and consistently over-the-top that it must have been done on purpose to create exactly the effect that i experienced, which was a throwback to 80's campiness.

objectively speaking this movie probably only deserves 2 or 2.5 stars, given that is low budget and not even remotely oscar material but i enjoyed the hell out of it so i'm going to go ahead and give it 3.5, and say hey, if you smoke pot and like to watch silly horror with your friends then you found yourself a worthy rental.

on the other hand, if your favorite hobby is nit-picking and whining and complaining and just generally being a sh*tty, complainy, pedantic jerk, then once again i must recommend this as a rental because you will have plenty to cry about... and let's face it, if you are a movie nerd then at least some of your time is spent being the latter... it's pretty much unavoidable in our little universe.
