Ninja Scroll DVD: Review By righthandofdoom

Ninja Scroll is an amazing anime. Yoshiaki Kawajiri brought his story to life with this fantastic film. The animation is superb and the colors and character design are perfect. The actors in Ninja Scroll did a great job. They picked a good cast to play these characters.

Ninja Scroll follows Jubei Kibagami a master swords man who sets out on a journey to solve the mystery of the town that was mysteriously wiped out by the plague. Through his investigating of the downs demise Jubei finds him self in a conspiracy that involves dangerous and deadly demons and a man from Jubei past who he thought was dead. Jubei now finds him self in the fight of his life.

Yoshiaki Kawajiri was the director and creator of Ninja Scroll. And has also direct and did animation on the animes Ninja scroll the TV series, Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust, X, Metropolis, Bio Hunter, Cleopatra, Diary of Anne Frank, and Highlander The search for Vengeance.

Dean Elliot talked for the character Jubei Kibagami and has also worked on the animes Rurouni Kenshin and Street Fighter 2 V.

Richard George talked for the character Genma Himure. He has a large history of work on video games and animes and has even written scripts and has even directed. Richard worked on the video games Kingdom Hearts, Ghost in the Shell, Dynasty Warriors, Kessen 2, Samurai Warriors, Robotech, Xenosaga and many more. He has written scripts and directed. These are some he has worked on. Ghost in the Shell 2, Lupin the 3rd, Robotech and Transformers: Robots in Disguise. Richard did voice over work for the animes Bleach, Digimon, Ghost in the Shell, Lupin the 3rd, Mega Man, Moble Suit Gundam, Robotech, Speed Racer (Racer X), Transformers: Robots in Disguise, Ghost in the Shell the movie, Bastard, Street Fighter 2 V and Tenchi Muyo

Rudy Luzion talked for the character Dakuan. Rudy has worked on the animes Armitage III, Black Jack, Moldiver, Phantom Quest and The Wings of Honneamise (movie).

Wendee Lee played the character Kagero. She also has a very large work history. She has worked on the video games Resident Evil Outbreak, Gundam, Dot Hack, Soul Calibur 2 and 3, Dynasty Warriors 4, Xenosaga, Final Fantasy 7 Dierge of Cerberus, Bushido Blade 2, The Bouncer, Contra, Grandia 3, Disgea 2 and Castlevania and many more. She has done Voice Direction and Directing for some of these animes Bleach, Digimon Adventure, Mega Man Star Force, Outlaw Star(directed) and Wild Arms. Wendee has done voice over for Akira, Arimitage 3, Bastard, Big O, Cowboy Bebop, Digimon Adventures, Dragon Ball(Bulma), Final Fantasy Advent Children, Fist of the North Star, Ghost in the Shell, Gungrave, Mega Man Star Force, Street Fighter 2 V, Tenchi Muyo, Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust,X and Rurouni Kenshin.

The 10th Anniversary Special Edition DVD is worth buying. It comes with a slide out case, poster and post card. The cover of the DVD is drawn well. The DVD features both full and widescreen. Side A Full Screen and Side B Widescreen. It has both English and Japanese tracks also features the French and Spanish. It has Character synopsis and Photo Gallery which is pretty cool. Director Yoshiaki Kawajiri interview which is interesting. The history of Jubei. And interviews with the English Cast. Ninja Scroll has even won a award. Th Citizens Award at the 1993 Yubari International Fantastic Film Festival.

I highly recommend this DVD to fans of animes and kung fu. It is a great movie. The story, animation, music and cast are perfect. Its definitely worth checking out. It is one of my favorites.
