Well I just came back from watching 24: Redemption. A nice action packed two hours of Jack Bauer goodness. BUT I have two complaints.

#1. A really bad Nextel product placement.

#2. A shot where not 1, but 2 camera men are in the shot. I mean I died a little inside after seeing that.

If none of you know, Jack Bauer at the end of tiresome season 6 is left with no emotional connection to anyone, everyone he knows wants nothing to do with him.

In 24: Redemption Jack has made his way around the world to the fictional setting of Sangala, Africa. Where he helps an old ex-special forces friend Benton (Robert Carlyle, 28 weeks later) run a home for young African children who are being chased down my African militiamen who use young boys as soldiers against the gov.

Early in the episode Jack is confronted by a man sent by the US government to bring him back to the US for "crimes" he committed in previous seasons. He pretty much tells the man to stuff it. Jack has NO intention on going back to the US where he would be prosecuted.

20 minutes of character development and emotional connections later. Jack packs up and begins to leave for more soul searching. But he is a little to late. The militiamen storm the home where his friend Benton asks Jack to help keep the children safe. Since he has been with these children for so long he has grown to love them, so he kicks ass and takes name.....never mind he just kicks ass.

A couple of booms and a crap load of bang bangs later. They reach the American embassy where the man sent to bring Jack back home is waiting. Jack makes a deal with the man telling him he will give himself up if he lets the children through. The agreement is fulfilled and Jack is put on a chopper with the children as the last few seconds tick away. Which leads up to season 7.

Trust me there is a lot more story than what I am telling you here so go and pick this DVD up if you haven't already seen it!

All in all it is was a really good "sorry we've been away for so long" from the cast of crew of 24. Thanks guys and I can't wait for 24 S7!
