300 Blu-ray: Review By Clutchfluid

Zack Snyder recreates faithfully the visuals of Frank Miller's seminal graphic novel.

First of all DO NOT expect an historically accurate account of the Battle Of Thermopylae. 300 is a balls out, visceral, action movie made all the better by Zack Snyder's almost frame for panel depiction of the source material.

Although heavy on CGI, the pure eye candy of the Blu-Ray transfer means you don't notice...Indeed it's hard to imagine that the movie would've been possible without it.

The special features are the usual fare, making ofs, some Spartan history, with the highlight being, in my opinion, the short and sweet 'webisodes' all compiled together. If you've seen them already though on the net (and I hadn't) they'd hardly warrant a second view.

If you like action flicks, buy this. It's stylish, well made, with some great acting turns (notably Gerry Butler as Leonidas), and at the risk of repeating myself, the visuals ARE sublime.

If Snyder makes as good a job of Watchmen, then he's onto a winner.
