A provocative, intense and underrated show that had potential to be something good until it got pulled. Engaging!

THE GOOD

THE BAD
No Special Features.
THE FEATURE
MacKenzie Allen (Geena Davis) starts out at the beginning of the series as the vice president and due to unexpected circ*mstances is thrusted into the presidency following the death of President Teddy Bridges.
Maybe it's the feminist in me, but it would be great to have a female president. Our relationships with other countries would be much better in my opinion. Instead of jumping into a war we'd talk about things and work things out. It's unfortunate that this show was taken off the air. Its potential was immense and the suspense was thick. I watched this DVD in a weekend and I am usually not one for many political dramas so that statement speaks volumes.

THE EXTRAS
None. I would have appreciated a making of or behind the scene featurette.
THE VIDEO
Widescreen - 1.78:1. I liked the flow each episode. Everything seemed fast paced, but not necessarily fleeting. Everything from the rhetoric to the sets and the costumes seem very detail oriented and befitting the show.
THE AUDIO
Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround. Everything was standard in this department. The score was very presidential with an epic feel.
THE PACKAGE
Over a red background is a image of the white house and a black shape that resembles the united states which seems to morph into the American Flag. On top of the U.S. shape is an image of Sutherland and another image of Davis. The back is pretty standard with scene stills and a series synopsis.
THE FINAL WORD
If you underestimated the trailer for this series on TV and chose to skip it like I did you might want to back up and give it another chance. It is just as interested as The west Wing if not better. Also the relationship between Mackenzie and her husband is endearing and is tested once she is elevated to President. It is interesting to see how the family handles the strain.
Check this out if not to see what a future female president might look like in office but for an entertaining political drama that keeps you hanging at the end and will certainly make you want to grab part two ASAP.
