Ah good old Friday the 13th part V : A new begining or has i have dubbed it Friday the 13th a la Scooby doo .

It starts off with a still talented Corey Feldman witnessing the resurection of Jason , ive always enjoyed that begining

Now Tommy is all grown up and wakes up from his nightmare and goes to a psych ward camp to get better , but after witnessing a gruesome murder , Jason seems to be back on a killing spree.

Ive always been a fan of this one , and the contraversial ending never bothered me at all , even if like i mention it made me think of a Scooby doo episode . One of the things ive always appreciated from it is the absudities it contains mostly concerning the characters. The main thing is that the country retreat is supposed to be a kind of mental facilitie that shelters psych ward patients .Only 4 of the kids look like they belong there , the rest just look like normal teenagers , 2 of them are normal horny teenagers ( that were able to bring pot at a mental ward retreat ) , ones of them seem like your typical nerdy girl , and ones your typical loner chick lost in her music ( well if they did see her weird dance , i can undersatnd that they put her in a mental ward ). But even the 4 ” mentaly damage ” boys probably wouldnt be in the same group , violent Vic and Tommy would be in one and the childish annoying joey and quirky Neil would be in another . And the 2 who would definitly fit into a mental facilitie/retreat is Ethel and her son junior , I always found it quite funny that they were the ones who look like real retards , you always look forward for their deaths wich in my opinion are memorable ones. And what can you say about Reggie always in is red Jump suit , a lilte black boy all in red running tru the hoods is pure bait.

On to the kills wich in my opinion is the strong point of this one , The fx and make-up could be debatetable but more then one are memorable . Seems teens havent learn the basic rule to survive in a slasher flick , never do drugs , dont get naked and dont have sex , wich this films contains plenty of , i think it’s the one that contain the more drug users in the franchise . There almost 20 kills in this almost all diferent ones , and most of them are pretty cool . my top 3 are : -Getting kill in the sh*t box by a big metal spike

-Tied by the head with a belt and squeezed to death

-and getting your eyes cut out with garden scisors

and ive always love the intensity of Vuc when he chops up Joey.

I enjoy most of the acting in this one , like most Friday the 13th there always one of them that tru the years became a actor i always appreciated seeing in film and in this one he plays Reggie’s drugged out nomad brother Demon ( shame the girl playing his chick never showed the goods) , Miguel Nunez Jr. . And it happens that his entire sh*tbox scene is one of my favorite of the franchise . Going to a outdoor sh*t box in the night is scary by itslef , am always kinda wondering if something is just gonna crawl out while i sh*t. Shaking the sh*t box just seem like something a pothead girlfriend would do , and when they both sing to each other a nice soothing medley , am always kinda touch by that scene

On to the features :

The making of : well i found it too short , left me hungy for more information , I was a bit sadden that they couldnt get more actors from it to interview . There one thing with a cameo by savini that is quite hilarious and made it worthwhile . But since it was too short am probably gonna give the comentary a shot

The crystal lake Massacre revisited part II : Unlike the one is part 6 , i found this one quite entertaining and really funny , Reggie’s ghetto cousin is hilarious , and so his Violent sister dance hommage , and nicely acted

Lost tales from camp blood : I prefered the one in part 6 but i still thought this was nicely made and entertaining to watch
