Universal Pictures has handed out an August 8, 2014 release date for Dracula Year Zero, which has Luke Evans attached to star. As of now, no other movies are scheduled for release on August 8, although Marvel's Phase Two adventure Guardians of the Galaxy opens one week earlier on August 1.

The story, written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, blends mythological fiction told in Bram Stoker's classic Dracula novel, with the true story of Vlad the Impaler, the historical figure whom the vampire was based on.

Gary Shore took over as director back in February. The project previously had Alex Proyas set to direct and Sam Worthington attached to star back in 2010, but the project fell apart due to budgetary issues.

Michael De Luca is attached to produce, but it isn't known when production may begin.

Dracula Untold was released October 10th, 2014 and stars Luke Evans, Sarah Gadon, Dominic Cooper, Art Parkinson, Charles Dance, Diarmaid Murtagh, Paul Kaye, William Houston. The film is directed by Gary Shore.

However, I would be much more interested in the real life story of Vlad. The man lived one hell of a life.

This actually doesnt sound too bad and is a hell of a lot more interesting than the Dracula 2000 style movies that were coming out.
