Are you ready for Wolverine and Deadpool to once again tangle on the big screen? That's a possibility, reveals X-Men franchise star Hugh Jackman. In a recent interview with MTV UK, the actor says confidently that he's very open to the idea of returning to once again square off with Ryan Reynolds.

Deadpool was actually introduced in 2009's X-Men Origins: Wolverine, which featured an epic standoff between the longtime rivals. Hugh Jackman reveals that he's stayed close friends with Ryan Reynolds, and loves the way that Wolverine and Deadpool go at it in the comics. Open a cameo, he states:

"Ryan is a really good friend of mine. I'm really happy for him because he's a brilliant actor. And he will nail [Deadpool]...Am I dodging the question well? They are enemies in the comics. And they always spark off well together. So, yeah...I'd be open to that idea."

There are three X-Men movies coming in 2016, including Deadpool, X-Men: Apocalypse and Gambit. At this time, Hugh Jackman is not confirmed to appear in any of them, though it seems likely that he might show up in all three. Gambit, who will now be played by Channing Tatum, was another Marvel character that was also introduced in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. While we don't know for sure where Hugh Jackman will pop up next as Wolverine, we do know that he is returning for a third solo adventure, with Wolverine 3 expected to hit theaters in March 2017.
