Daniel Radcliffe has signed on to star in the adaptation You Shall Know Our Velocity for Benaroya Pictures and International Film Trust.

The story centers on two longtime friends, the awkward Will (Daniel Radcliffe) and self-proclaimed ladies man Hand, who take a two-week journey around the world to help those in need, by using a $32,000 insurance payoff from their friend's fatal car accident.

Peter Sollett (Raising Victor Vargas, Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist) is directing from an adapted screenplay by Wells Towers, with Michael Benaroya producing alongside Tim Perrell, who acquired the rights to the novel back in 2007. Miguel Arteta initially was attached to direct when the rights were acquired, but he is no longer involved. International Film Trust is shopping the international rights at Cannes, while UTA is handling the domestic rights. Production is scheduled to begin next spring.

Since wrapping up the Harry Potter franchise in 2011, Daniel Radcliffe has shot five movies, The Woman in Black, Kill Your Darlings and upcoming projects Horns, What If and Frankenstein.
