Last week, we reported that 20th Century Fox is moving forward with the superhero comic book adaptation X-Force, bringing on Kick-Ass 2 filmmaker Jeff Wadlow to write and direct. The writer-director spoke about the project for the first time at Comic-Con 2013, where he revealed he already has 20 pages of the script written.

"I'm pretty deep into it. I have the whole story completely worked out. I'm about 20 pages into my draft. If I wasn't promoting Kick-Ass, I would probably have a draft [already], but Kick-Ass is going to slow me down just a little."
Like many of the Marvel comic book franchises, there are several different incarnations of X-Force, with Wolverine, Storm, and Cyclops featured as members of this superhero team at one point, alongside lesser-known heroes such Boom Boom, Cable, Psylocke, Sunspot, and many others. When asked what heroes would be included in his version, the filmmaker didn't reveal any specific details, but said he thinks the fans will be pleased.
"Here's the thing, I love the current run of Uncanny X-Force. I love the classic run. Part of my take was addressing this idea that X-Force can be many different things, and that's what got the studio excited. I think the fans will be excited, too."
Before the director gets started on X-Force, he will likely take on Go Fast for Sony, a project we reported on earlier this week. 20th Century Fox has its panel at Comic-Con later today, and there is still a lot of mystery in regards to what will be unveiled there. Since the filmmaker is already in San Diego, it's possible he might show up to reveal more about this superhero adventure.
