COMIC-CON 2012: Oz: The Great and Powerful Trailer!
Walt Disney Pictures unveiled the first trailer for Oz: The Great and Powerful at San Diego Comic-Con 2012 earlier today. However, the witches Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz) and Glinda (Michelle Williams) are not so convinced of his greatness. Take a look at the first footage from director Sam Raimi's highly-anticipated adventure.
Oz: The Great and Powerful was released March 8th, 2013 and stars James Franco, Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz, Michelle Williams, Zach Braff, Bill Cobbs, Joey King, Tony Cox. The film is directed by Sam Raimi.

No. It was going for me until about midway through the trailer. It stopped being Oz and started being Alice in Wonderland. Passing.

@narrator It doesn't help that I just finished Farscape off Netflix, a show that almost exclusively relies on puppetry/practical effects besides outside of the spaceship (and even then, it's usually the same stock shots just from different angles. So watching this, the CGI was painfully apparent.

the Narrator
I'm in the same boat as @dan1.
Too much overly obvious CGI, and not enough practical here. I actually enjoyed the black and white scenes better, as they gave off a real Raimi vibe. And while I understand Oz (the world) could use an update with more creativity, I can't help but see unnecessary fantasy gimmicks everywhere.

I was turned off by the excessive CGI, but the presentation is nice, with the black n white into color, and it ending with the flying monkeys. But I wasn't nearly as impressed as I hoped I would be.
