Chris Columbus is producing a four-part horror anthology based on Creepy Magazine
The Warren Publishing horror comic book magazine ran from 1963 to 1984, and featured a number of notable contributors such as Spider-Man co-creator Steve Ditko, Wally Wood, and Gene Colan. This new anthology will follow the same type of format used in Tales from the Crypt. New Comic Company principals Josh Braun and Dan Braun held the rights to Creepy Magazine and sister publication Eerie Magazine, and teamed up with the filmmaker to bring these stories to the big screen. Here's what Chris Columbus had to say about the project.
"I am thrilled to be immersed once again in the world of Creepy and Eerie. They featured some of the most important comic book artists of the time and were incredibly influential in my desire to become a filmmaker. It is really exciting to have the opportunity to bring these unique tales to the screen and share them with today's audiences."
Michael Barnathan and Sara Feldmann Sheehan are also producing alongside Chris Columbus, Josh Braun and Dan Braun. No directors have been attached yet for this four-part project.
