The problem with this show is created only if you watch the BBC show first, the only actor they have right in the US cast is Sam Huntington, keep him. As for Sam Witwer he is just to cute and not manly enough for the role, he's not believable as a vampire gone rogue, and Meaghan Rath is to plain, she doesn't have the girl next door done wrong look. Then again it could all be fixed with makeup and better writing(no offense writers). However, I will keep watching to see if anything changes at least for a while longer, but I still prefer BBC's version.

The original UK show is infinitely better. I like that the US cast chose not to watch the original series, out of fear of being influenced. My problem with the US cast isn't with the material itself, but rather the cast. I personally don't believe the lead actors are right for the show. I can see that the director is going for a more "gritty feel" to the show, but I'm not buying into it. The creator of the original UK version show got rid of 2/3 of the lead cast, and 2/3 of the supporting cast, and recast the show after the pilot had aired. It was not only a ballsy, brave move, but a wise one as well. The old cast were incredible actors, I mean top notch, but they were wrong for their assigned roles. The creator wanted to take the show in more of a light direction, with dramatic undertones and the old actors didn't fit the bill. The new cast does. My point being, The US executive producers should take note and fellow suite. Or at least figure out a way to kill off the main characters and quickly replace them. I Love the story lines, but dislike the lead actors. This show has potential.
