This movie is going to have to be at least three hours long if there going to fit every character and make good action scenes. I hope they don't make the action scenes short like they did in Ironman 2.

F*CK-YES! Dude this is seriously getting me more and more pumped to see this. I can totally see the theater here being mega-packed on opening day for this film! In fact they will most likely have a midnight showing. Which I will definitely be the first one to get my ticket for! And anyone bad mouthing this particular teaser trailer, or saying anything bad about the film itself - Can suck a big fat one!! :)

@jhonnymoe, its not a rip-off. It's just a decent teaser. Seriously TDK didn't invent the whole logo/voice over thing.

I agree that I don't think Avengers will beat the record of Titanic, Avatar for the most watched. More or less it will get a record for the top weekend or something like that but there's alot of competition for 2012, its going to be a great movie year. If the world ends, at least we get to watch these films unlike 2010 which was some great films but boring none the less. Regarding Whedon, I think he's one of those vision type directors which I think is the reason why marvel got him. He is a fan of the comics and I think he will be able to do some justice with the movie.

On a lighter note, it would have been nice to hear Jackson utter "motha f*ckin" at least once during this...he could have slipped it in there, and no one would have shouted B.S. because he's Sam Jackson and that's what he does. "On that day...the motha f*ckin Avengers were born, to fight the foes that no single hero could withstand!"

I'm surprised he didn't say it in one of the Star Wars prequels. "May the motha f*ckin Force be with you." That would have been awesome...

Personally, I think just the complete opposite. Samuel Jackson makes almost any movie better. Yes he has been in some weak films but I never get tired of seeing him on screen.

I'm not being preachy. Simply stating although a good rebuttal, it was rather impolite and unprofessional when my comment was rather respective. Just saying, next time you might need so many capitals. And yes, I pretty much always support your comments when I agree, which is most of the time. However, here I just choose to disagree.

As for the JLA movie, you have a strong point there, but it is still a very far way off. I will have to see how the Superman and GL films go before I can fully board that ship. However, if Nolan does helm the project, or at least oversee it like you and others have been rooting for, then I will definitely be there. I guess I just have more merit in the Avengers, I grew up with them, and I love most of the characters in the original line-up. I am not to grounded in the DC Universe other than GL and the occasional Batman and Superman stories. At least not lately. Again, sorry if I offended you, sounded preachy or what not. I hope both The Avengers and JLA turn out good. To be honest the superhero movies I look forward to the most right now are Batman 3, GL, Spidey reboot and First Class. The rest I am still on a wait and see basis to see if they really went all out or not.

I was just stating my opinion. No need to get preachy on me by attacking my age when you know damn well I've always made good points, that comment in question being no different. The fact of the matter is that it's still two years away.

To be quite honest, I think a JLA film has more potential to be the epic film you're looking for. DC and Marvel seem to have different approaches when it comes to their movies.

  22. The Narrator: The Better Man

@Insert, you're showing your age responding to a polite comment in a rather defensive way. It's not my attention to have upset you. I just feel like people (like you) are still settling. If you look back and read my comment, you will see that I was satisfied with the teaser. I wanted more, sure, but it was good enough. If it were me I would have really done more. But whatever. My main gripe is with the panels I have seen so far, the Thor teaser, and the lack of fan optimism for the film. Again, this is a movie that comes around once in a blue moon. The possibilities are great; if Whedon and crew simply set out to make a good movie, then what's the point? The Dark Knight (which people need to stop comparing to every other film out there) was as great as it was because Nolan didn't settle for "good". He just wanted to stick to his vision of the character and give him justice on screen. Same for every other hugely successful adaption. They didn't settle. This film has the potential to be amazing, and if they start this early on with just a "good, fun film" mindset (Thor) then they won't have anything more than that. I admit I am a little over-passionate and ambitious for this film. However, I am not a perfectionist. I know what people can do, and I just feel that the Thor trailer, and this teaser, they could have done more. Sorry to of accused your expectations, but I honestly feel like this film is being treated as just another superhero movie by most others and not as a possibly amazing movie about hero's, with an ensemble cast. That's what I am trying to get at.

@POTC, the summer movie schedule is layered. The Avengers come out May 4th. It will easily win two weeks until May 18, when big competition comes in the form of Battleship and Madagascar. And this will progress: Spider-Man, Batman 3, Men in Black 3 all come out in different weeks. This will make the Avengers audience deteriorate over time, which did not happen to Avatar or Titanic(there was no real competition during the winter months). As for your assessment of how The Avengers should win because how big Marvel is planning on making it, I disagree. All of the characters in that movie are great, but IMO Batman and Spider-Man separately are more popular than those in The Avengers movie combined. Especially in Batman's case, as I think Batman 3 is more anticipated than Avengers.

No one really had to write anything...that's been the Avengers prologue since day one. Of course, it's been tweaked over the years, but they probably just gave Jackson an Avenger comic book and circled what he had to say.

I seriously don't know what you're all complaining about. I wasn't even expecting a Sam Jackson narration at this point.

Why do you think that that Batman 3, Spider Man reboot, Star Trek seqel, Men In black 3, Battleship, and Madagascar 3 would put a dent in The Avengers for world wide dominance in the Box Office?. I would think that if anything, The Avengers would beat all those movies down in the box office world wide, when it gets released to theaters, because of how big of a movie they're planning on making it be, with all the marvel comic book characters being in it and everything.
