Guillermo del Toro to reboot The Haunted Mansion

Since August 1969, foolish mortals have dared to trespass on the macabre grounds of Disney's Haunted Mansion. A hallowed landmark in Disneyland's New Orleans square, it's the dwelling place of 999 happy haunts dying to meet new visitors each day. The plantation-style of the mansion's facade is a sweet deception for visitors. Inside, ghostly doom buggies line the hallways. Since its construction, the mysteries of the mansion have transcended the attraction with stories surfacing about horrifying encounters with the supernatural. Versions of the daunting edifice have been built at other Disney theme parks in Orlando, Tokyo and Paris.
Haunted Mansion 3D comes to theaters in 2012. The film is directed by Guillermo del Toro.

If this is going to be a Guillermao Del Toro movie, then i expect it to be a very very dark movie, and scary but not scary a whole lot, well maybe alittle scary, but they can't make it extremely scary because it'll be a Disney movie.

I was hoping he'd do Mountains of Madness or Frankenstein if he couldn't do the Hobbit. I was also hoping he wouldn't be seduced by the 3D dark side. But I also trust del Toro, he is a genius storyteller.

The Disney movie called "The Haunted Mansion", that came out in 2003 was boring and it sucked. I hope that this new one that their planning making will be better, and scarier, then the one from 2003, and hopefully it will NOT have Eddie Murphy starring in it, they better keep him far away from this movie.

Well...I hope it's less kid-friendly than the Eddie Murphy version. I mean, I love family films - but the ACTUAL Haunted Mansion entertained me more than that movie did LOL.
It's Del Toro so it should be nothing less than visually extraordinary.
