I just read The Hobbit in anticipation for the new movie and watched the old 1977 cartoon by the same name, and already I am questioning the cast selection on Thorin. I'm not sure, but from the trailer I think they go to the mentioned scene that wasn't in the book when Gandalf takes care of a necromancer problem [the scene with the steps in the trailer]. But the real thrill for me will be seeing Smaug!
