Clint Eastwood Wants to Play ‘James Bond’?

The director says that he isn’t through with acting just yet, and if the right project comes along he will go before the camera once again.

Clint Eastwood had previously stated that his performance in the 2008 drama Gran Torino would be his last in front of the camera. But the prolific Hollywood icon has changed his mind, and in a recent interview, revealed that he is open to acting again as long as the project is something incredibly special.

He then went onto state that he would play James Bond if offered the role. Here is what Clint Eastwood had to say about returning to the other side of the camera:

"I would act if the right role came along. But I'm not looking to do it because there are not that many great roles that would be something different for me to play, to conquer. I don't know, I never say never, like James Bond or something."

Clint Eastwood will next direct Leonardo DiCaprio and Judi Dench in the biopic J. Edgar. At this time, there is no word that he will be appearing in the film.

Gran Torino was released December 12th, 2008 and stars Clint Eastwood, Christopher Carley, Bee Vang, Ahney Her, Brian Haley, Geraldine Hughes, Dreama Walker, Brian Howe. The film is directed by Clint Eastwood.

Skyfall was released November 9th, 2012 and stars Daniel Craig, Judi Dench, Javier Bardem, Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris, Bérénice Marlohe, Albert Finney, Ben Whishaw. The film is directed by Sam Mendes.

I heard a while back that he wanted to direct a Bond film, it would be cool if he did.

@Marcusx: It's called enticing the reader. Like dangling a chunk of red meat to a carnivore to lure them in. The tagline is meant to draw you in, whereas the actual story is always something different. I figured someone of your arrogance would know such things. But I suppose not, as you only log on anymore to brag about how smart you allegedly are, yet are sounding more and more like those annoying newbs who plague the site.

I really wish Orange would f*cking kill himself. He needs to. I find every issue I have come across on here to be directly tied to his stupidity and lack of knowledge. Who hired that *sshole?

Looking at the thread, about 90% of you guys totally took this article the wrong way, as expected, and blew sh*t out of proportion. Alan's having a laugh with us, which is cool. He's also reporting that Clint wants to keep on acting, which is a worthy discussion, and a way to get people interested is by putting in the 007 reference. Again, some of you (although cool) really are immature at times. This is elementary stuff, similar to the Cena for Batman article, which was also taken the wrong way. I think it's flattering to have a site that likes to pull jokes every now and then on it's users, even though they are as unsubtle as can be. Enjoy it.

that does not sound like he wants to play james bond... sounds more like he was just making a statement, that he never says never like james bond...

i would love to see eastwood come back as dirty harry callahan again... those never got old, and i feel that eastwood has alot in him still, especially after witnessing gran torino which was a great film.
