Clifton Collins Jr. Joins ‘Transcendence’

Johnny Depp and Morgan Freeman star in Wall Pfister’s directorial debut about a man who uploads his brain into a computer.

Clifton Collins Jr. has joined the cast of Transcendence for Warner Bros. and director Wally Pfister.

Johnny Depp plays a scientist named Will, who attempts to create his own form of artificial intelligence by uploading his brain into a super-computer. Morgan Freeman, Paul Bettany, Rebecca Hall, and Kate Mara also star. No details were given regarding Clifton Collins Jr.'s character.

Wally Pfister, who has served as cinematographer on Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight trilogy, is making his directorial debut, working from a screenplay by Jack Paglen. Christopher Nolan is executive producing alongside Emma Thomas and Aaron Ryder. No production schedule was given.

Clifton Collins Jr. most recently starred in Parker, and next appears in director Guillermo del Toro's Pacific Rim this summer.

Transcendence was released April 18th, 2014 and stars Johnny Depp, Rebecca Hall, Paul Bettany, Cillian Murphy, Kate Mara, Cole Hauser, Morgan Freeman, Clifton Collins Jr.. The film is directed by Wally Pfister.
