This weekend, Carrie Fisher was forced to drop out as a keynote speaker at a Florida fundraiser due to a bipoler episode. Before canceling her appearance, she did manage to give Palm Beacn Illustrated a one word answer to their question, "Will you be returning as Princess Leia in Star Wars: Episode VII?"

She confirmed her role in the movie quite simply by saying,

The actress was then asked where she thought Leia would be at this stage in her life. Always one to come with a joke, Carrie Fisher stated the following.

"Elderly. She's in an intergalactic old folks' home [laughs]. I just think she would be just like she was before, only slower and less inclined to be up for the big battle."

While Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill are also rumored to return as Han Solo and Luke Skywalker, nothing has been confirmed by Disney or Lucasfilm at this point. There is a lot of speculation that this big announcement will come at San Diego Comic-Con 2013, but Disney, with its growing D23 Expo, may be saving up their biggest news for Anaheim sometime between August 9 and August 11th.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens comes to theaters December 18th, 2015 and stars John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson. The film is directed by J.J. Abrams.
