Buried within a Heat Vision Blog story about Jeremy Renner signing on to star in the sci-fi drama Story of Your Life is a brief tidbit that supposedly confirms the actor will reprise his role as Hawkeye in Captain America: Civil War. The actor is reportedly set to start shooting the sequel sometime this spring, before moving on to Story of Your Life, where he stars alongside Amy Adams, in mid-June. This report has yet to be confirmed by Marvel at this time, but if it turns out to be true, it seems almost the entire Avengers team will be returning for Captain America: Civil War.

Chris Evans will be back as Captain America, with Robert Downey Jr. also set to reprise his role as Iron Man and Scarlett Johansson returning as Black Widow. If Jeremy Renner is coming back as Hawkeye, then the only two Avengers who won't be present are Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Hulk (Mark Ruffalo). Even if Hawkeye is coming back, it isn't known how he will fit into the story quite yet.

Captain America: Civil War centers on Steve Rogers and Tony Stark finding themselves on opposite sides of the Superhero Registration Act. This act forces any individual with a super power to register themselves with the government, to become part of a massive police force. The sequel will also give fans an introduction to Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther, before his stand alone movie of the same name hits theaters in 2018.

Anthony Russo and Joe Russo are directing from a screenplay by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely. Are you looking forward to Hawkeye showing up in Captain America: Civil War?
