Bryan Singer Will Shoot Quicksilver Scenes at 3600 FPS for ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’

The director reveals a sound stage where he is shooting at a whopping 3600 frames per second, 150 times faster than the standard rate.

Bryan Singer continued his barrage of behind-the-scenes photos from the Montreal set of X-Men: Days of Future Past, where he teased a unique filming set up used to capture the speedy Quicksilver, played by Evan Peters. The director posted a photo of a ultra-bright set, where he is shooting Quicksilver scenes at 3600 frames per second, a whopping 150 times slower than the standard 24 FPS rate, which requires much more lighting than a traditional shoot. While it isn't clear how this super-fast mutant will look on the big screen yet, it should be quite a sight to behold at this frame rate.

@brady1138 unless they are shooting everything around him at 3600 FPS and it looks like he is moving at normal speed while everything else is in slow motion.

Wait, doesn't more FPS mean a slower speed when played back in normal time? That would mean Quicksilver would go at a dead-slow pace!

@corey yeah I can see Evan fitting the role more. But honestly it's too early to tell. We will have to see the way they are portraited on film

@therealGoku I think both will be great, but I'm going to give it to Peters....as of right now just based off what I've seen him in.

Kind of funny, Johnson vs. Peters, both starred in Kick-Ass together!
