@Acyuta-dude I'm not really a fan of the first two MIB and I have no interest at all in the new one, but I think it'll do quite well in the box office (USA at least).

@themoviefanatic yes, they should show something new in the latest trailers of MIB3.

they have Avengers projected after this weekend at $103 million, putting it at $373 million domestically after ten days...yup $500 million is not a stretch at all

@Acyuta-dude I hope Men in Black 3 will be good and funny and all, like the first 2 Men in Black movies. But, from what it looks like so far from the trailers and tv spots for it, not much has been shown that seems as entertaining from the first two movies. Hopefully, when its released to movie theaters, it will turn out to be good. I'd like to see another trailer released for Men in Black 3, that shows plenty of footage from the movie, to convince me that it will indeed be a good movie like the first two Men in Black movies.

@felipe-11 Yes, it will be a success considering the no. of fans -Spidey has.

@Acyuta-dude@themoviefanatic Spider-man is gonna do well in the box office, but not nearly as much as The Avengers or TDKR. A lot of people aren't even gonna see it because they think it'll be the same as Spider-man 1 or that it's gonna suck because it's a reboot. But it's still definitely gonna make as much as Iron Man or any other major Marvel movie.

@themoviefanatic i don't think it was actually mentioned in the comics...

@Acyuta-dude I'm not sure if the secret of his past is mentioned in the Spiderman comic books. I've never read Spiderman comics before.

@themoviefanatic Hmm. yes, the movie may exceed the expectations. And, i have a doubt. Was The secret of his past(about his parents which is the main plot of the movie) mentioned in the Spiderman comic books? I never remember reading the past of spidey.

@bawnian-dexeus Yup. Waiting is the best remedy for now :)

@Acyuta-dude I have a feeling the Amazing Spiderman movie might not do all that well but i don't know, i could be wrong about that.

@Acyuta-dude If it were like that, then both movies would be separated by a few millions. But for now, I'm just patiently waiting. And in the end, we will see who the better hero/es is ;)

@themoviefanatic And what do you think about amazing spiderman ?
I don't think it will sustain the pressure of Avengers, TDKR, Men in Black 3.

  18. Acyuta_dude

@bawnian-dexeus Yeah, that is a minus point for TDKR. But still there would be some competition if we compare Avengers 2d and imax to that of TDKR(excluding 3D collections of Avengers) :)

    3 years agoby @Acyuta-dudeFlag

  19. Sean

    @Acyuta-dude That sounds possible.

  20. Bawnian©-Dexeus

@Acyuta-dude Well, since we are on subject, Avengers had a boost with 3D and Imax 3D. Batman is only going with Imax and 2d.

  21. Acyuta_dude

@themoviefanatic Taking into consideration Avengers 1st weekend collection of 207 million, i would say TDKR would collect 175-190 million weekend collections(1st weekend). :)

  22. Sean

@Acyuta-dude Good point about Avengers 2 and Avatar 2. As for the Dark Knight Rises, are talking about 175-190 million being its possible national box office gross or world wide box office gross?

    3 years agoby @themoviefanaticFlag

  23. Acyuta_dude

@themoviefanatic Agreed. Avengers is something new. And BANE looks a bit boring compared to TDK joker. And Avengers had stellar cast. The record will be unbreakable for atleast 2-3 years until Avengers 2 or Avatar 2 comes. But still, TDKR can give stiff competition, 175-190million weekend, i guess. :)

  24. Sean

@Acyuta-dude In my own opinion, No. I don't think it will break the weekend record of the Avengers. The Avengers is something that's never before done before, that has most of the Avengers characters in it. Where as the Dark Knight Rises, doesn't have most of the DC comics characters in it, it some of them but not most of them. Also, Theres already been the Batman Begins movie and the Dark Knight movie that's been released before the Dark Knight Rises, so kind of like with the third movie of other movie franchises, usually almost everyone gets tired of the third movie in movie franchises and that causes the movie to not do as well as the first two movies, which ever third movie and movies franchise they may be from.

  25. Replicant

@Acyuta-dude It's gonna be tough since The Avengers has priciers 3D tickets and TDKR doesn't, but I think TDKR has a good shot of reaching it. And I think it'll definitely make more than The Avengers in the final worldwide gross.

@themoviefanatic Will The dark knight rises break the weekend record of avengers? What's your opinion?

  27. Ghostman

@felipe-11 I'm guessing between 45-60mil it's in 3D so that may push it to 75mil.

@Acyuta-dude Oh, yeah i see what you mean.

    3 years agoby @themoviefanaticFlag

  29. Acyuta_dude

@themoviefanatic It can top the boxoffice of THAT weekend. But not overall gross!

@ghostman@bawnian-dexeus On a separate note, how much do think Prometheus will make on opening weekend? Sure, Ridley's movies aren't usually record-breaking, but he's still the man who redefined sci-fi and he's now returning to the genre. I think Prometheus is the most anticipated sci-fi since Star Trek and Avatar.
