Director Bryan Singer released a Vine video today that confirms the mutants Bishop and Warpath are included in X-Men: Days of Future Past. Take a look at the brief video, then read on for more details.
While it hasn't been confirmed who exactly are playing these characters, two recent additions to the cast may provide some hints. We reported last month that The Intouchables star Omar Sy joined the cast in an unspecified role, although there was speculation right away that he will star as Bishop. As for Warpath, we also reported last month that BooBoo Stewart signed on for an unknown role and, since he is the only Native American in the cast, it seems almost certain that he is playing Warpath.
In the Marvel comic books, Lucas Bishop was a member of Xavier's Security Enforcers, a squad of mutant cops from a dystopian future, who travels through time to join the X-Men. He possesses the power to absorb all forms of radiant and conductive energy, which he can release through his body. James "Warpath" Proudstar is an Apache Native American who has super-human strength and speed.
Bryan Singer is directing from a screenplay by Simon Kinberg, based on a Marvel comic book arc by Chris Claremont and John Byrne. The story revolves around an alternate future where mutants are hunted by Sentinels, following the murder of a Senator by the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. Production is slated to begin very soon in Montreal.
X-Men: Days of Future Past was released May 23rd, 2014 and stars Hugh Jackman, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Halle Berry, Nicholas Hoult, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page. The film is directed by Bryan Singer.
