Benedict Cumberbatch says no offer has been made for Star Wars: Episode VII
Earlier this week, rumors started flying that Star Trek Into Darkness star Benedict Cumberbatch has been cast in Star Wars: Episode VII. Just one day later, the actor's representatives shot down the rumor, at the same time another story surfaced, revealing he was in talks to play a Sith Lord. Earlier today, at the Toronto Film Festival premiere of The Fifth Estate, the actor himself revealed that no offer has been made, although he does want to work with J.J. Abrams again..

"This is the simple truth. J.J. (Abrams) and I have worked together before. I would love to work with him again. No offer has been made. That is that. And that is that."

The only confirmed information we have regarding Star Wars: Episode VII is that J.J. Abrams is directing from a screenplay by Michael Arndt. We reported last month that production is scheduled to begin in January 2014 at Pinewood Studios in London.

Star Wars: Episode VII comes to theaters December 18th, 2015 and stars John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Adam Driver, Domhnall Gleeson, Lupita Nyong'o. The film is directed by J.J. Abrams.

@undeadslayer4 Star Trek and Star Wars are two different worlds. I don't think he would do good in that Universe...I don't dislike him i just dont think he would have been good in this.

This movie is in pure development hell. Zack Snyder confirmed who's playing BATMAN & Joss Whedon gives us A2 updates like every other day but yet we can't even get a simple confirmation that the original cast is coming back.

Well I'm not heartbroken. A day or two ago I read that he might be getting a role in Star Wars. But I can't wait to see who is in it. And how it turns out. But I want news not rumors on this movie. I want official announcements. So can't wait.
