Warner Bros. was supposed to release the first full trailer for their highly-anticipated superhero adventure Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice during a special theatrical event on Monday, but those plans have changed. The studio has instead released the official trailer today, just one day after the trailer leaked online. The studio hasn't announced yet if the Monday event in over 100 theaters across the country is still going ahead as scheduled.

The trailer gives us our first look at Ben Affleck in action as the beloved DC Comics hero Batman, who was first announced to battle Superman in this action-packed adventure nearly two years ago at Comic-Con 2013. Henry Cavill returns as Clark Kent/Superman from 2013's Man of Steel. The trailer also includes footage that was shown at last year's Comic Con, where Batman stares down Superman as he overs above him in the sky. Unfortunately, we don't get to see any footage of their actual batle, but perhaps Warner Bros. is saving that tfor the second trailer.

Also returning from Man of Steel is Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Diane Lane as Ma Kent and Laurence Fishburne as Daily Planet editor Perry White. The cast also includes Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash and Ray Fisher as Cyborg, who will form the Justice League in the two-part adventure Justice League Part 1 and Justice League Part 2, set for release in 2017 and 2019. Before we can get to that epic ensemble, it's clear that Batman and Superman need to work out their issues. Directed by Zack Snyder, the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice cast is rounded out by Holly Hunter, Callan Mulvey, Tao Okamoto and Scoot McNairy, although their characters have yet to be confirmed yet. Take a look at the footage below for your first look at this epic superhero adventure, arriving in theaters March 25, 2016.
