Ashley Tisdale Joins ‘Left Behind’

The actress will play the daughter of Nicolas Cage’s Ray Steele in director Vic Armstrong’s adaptation of the popular Christian novels.

Ashley Tisdale (Scary Movie 5) has signed on to star in the Family Screen Pictures adaptation Left Behind, joining a cast that includes Nicolas Cage and Chad Michael Murray.

The story revolves around a group of people trying to find their loved ones after the Rapture occurs, causing millions of people to vanish off the face of the Earth. Ashley Tisdale is portraying Chloe Steele, the daughter of Nicolas Cage's Ray Steele, who wanders throughout America in search of her family. Chad Michael Murray will play journalist Cameron "Buck" Mitchell, the role Kirk Cameron portrayed in the original Left Behind series.

Vic Armstrong is directing from a screenplay by Paul Lalonde (Left Behind) and John Patus (Left Behind: World at War), based on the novel series by Jerry B. Jenkins and Tim LaHaye. No production schedule has been released.

Left Behind was released October 3rd, 2014 and stars Nicolas Cage, Chad Michael Murray, Lea Thompson, Nicky Whelan, Martin Klebba, Cassi Thomson, Quinton Aaron, Jordin Sparks. The film is directed by Vic Armstrong.

    And apparently the budget is only around $15 million!!! Nicolas Cage can't be getting paid any more than $3-4 million... Is he that desperate for money? This is headed straight to the Red Box or VOD when it gets done. Nicolas Cage has fallen to the absolute rock bottom. Just a few years ago, he was starring in a $120 million major Hollywood movie ("The Scorcerer's Apprentice") and now he's starring in a $15 million religious disaster action picture that will very likely NOT get released theatrically. He just doesn't care anymore. This is going to be sooo bad... I may actually watch it.
