Face your demons and discover the darkness within this new extended restricted trailer from Legendary and Universal Pictures' As Above, So Below. Descend into the Catacombs of Paris with Perdita Weeks, Ben Feldman and Edwin Hodge in the upcoming psychological thriller from John Erick Dowdle & Drew Dowdle opening in theaters everywhere this Friday, August 29th!

Take a look at this restricted footage below, which contains plenty of bloody violence and R-rated language, then read on to see what star Ben Feldman has to say about this upcoming thriller.

Star Ben Feldman admitted to Yahoo! Movies that he isn't exactly a huge fan of horror movies, who convinced himself he would never take on another horror role after 2009's Friday the 13th reboot. However, the actor explained that he was attracted to As Above, So Below because it simply isn't your typical horror movie.

"It's not the typical horror movie with a bunch of pretty kids going into a haunted house and running around screaming being chased by ghosts. It's an adventure movie. It's intelligent characters that are fleshed out. They're real people that you feel like you know; they're not just archetypes."

The plot follows a group trying to find the Sorcerer's Stone in the underground catacombs of Paris. The actor also spoke about how authentic the story is.

"Everything that's referenced in this movie is real. You can go home and Google everything that's mentioned. It's really, in a way, a brief, fun lesson in alchemy and history and science and archaeology. Yeah, it's scary as s--, but at the same time it's an adventure movie, and that's what drew me to it."
