The CW is developing a new spinoff series that will bring together several recurring characters from their DC Comics superhero shows Arrow and The Flash. Arrow creators Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and Marc Guggenheim are developing the show that will star Brandon Routh (Atom) and Caity Lotz (Black Canary) from Arrow, along with Victor Garber (Firestorm) and Wentworth Miller (Captain Cold) from The Flash.

Deadline reports that, since Caity Lotz's Sara Lance was killed earlier this season on Arrow, it isn't known if she will come back to play the same character, or a different superhero. The Black Canary mantle was taken over by Sara's sister, Laurel (Katie Cassidy). The site reports that there is the possibility for other Arrow and The Flash characters to cross over into this spinoff, and that the currently untitled series will include three major DC Comics characters who have never appeared on a TV show before.

The CW's Mark Pedowitz briefly hinted at this series during the TCA Winter Tour last month. The project will not be a part of the network's traditional pilot cycle, and there is talk that CW could give it a straight-to-series order, debuting in midseason next year. Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and Marc Guggenheim will all serve as executive producers alongside Sarah Schechter for Warner Bros. Television and Berlanti Productions.
