Alicia Silverstone and Twilight's Billy Burke have boarded William Carey's dramedy Jesus in Cowboy Boots. Amanda Michalka is also attached to star.

The coming-of-age comedy centers on a small-town girl (Amanda Michalka), who lives at an abandoned drive-in movie theater along the Texas-Oklahoma border. The story follows the girl and her imaginary friend, The Cowboy (Billy Burke), as they deal with her self absorbed mother (Alicia Silverstone).

William Carey is directing from his own script, with Tap Water Entertainment's Scott Dolezal producing.

The film started production in Santa Clarita, California last week.

The actresses playing the mother and daughter are only 15 years apart in age... note sure if that fits with the characters in the original story, or if they will be using some heavy makeup to exaggerate their ages.
