‘12 Years a Slave’ Clip ’I Want to Live’

The life of Solomon Northup (Chiwetel Ejiofor), a free African-American from New York, is torn away from him when he is sold into slavery in 12 Years a Slave. Fox Searchlight Pictures has released a new clip featuring Solomon discussing how to survive on the plantation with Robert (Michael K. Williams) and Clemens (Chris Chalk), just days after he was taken from his family. Director Steve McQueen's drama, which co-stars Brad Pitt, Benedict Cumberbatch, Michael Fassbender, Paul Dano and Paul Giamatti, hits theaters in limited release on October 18.

12 Years a Slave was released October 18th, 2013 and stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Brad Pitt, Michael Fassbender, Paul Dano, Sarah Paulson, Garret Dillahunt, Paul Giamatti, Quvenzhané Wallis. The film is directed by Steve McQueen.
