To answer supernatural's question. no, the R-rating is not a good thing. For two reasons. One: it lowers the numbers of people who want to see it. (Both adults and children put together) And Two: the gore, blood, bad language. That's pretty much what it will all be. None of it is nesesary. Given the chance if I direct an AVP film I would try to make it the way it should be. Intense, Scary, action packed. I think the first AVP didn't have enough action or intenseity. There is a way to do that without getting the R-rating and I know the way.

I've seen some live action Halo stuff and it's really cool. I trust that they can make it the best film ever made.

These people are clueless. The only problem with the first AVP wasn't that it wasn't scary enough or anything like that. The problem was it wasn't intense enough. There's a way to achieve intensity without getting an R-rating and I know that way. Giving this movie an R-rating after the first was PG-13 breaks a few rules. My point is the R-rating is a piece of crap and I have alot of friends who will backup my opinion.

AVP-R is going to be the worst film even released because of it's R rating. Also Horror and Christmas do not mix. If they want to release this during a holiday, try Halloween. (Or not at all.)
