If you're parents were killed in front of you, you probably wouldn't become a costumed crime-fighter. Anecdotal evidence doesn't really prove anything concerning fictional characters. The rules in real life don't apply in film. Physical scarring that would leave you or I disgruntled may leave a movie character hopelessly insane. I don't care about the other stuff you said because those were your opinions and i don't mind if you share them. As for mine, if Chris Nolan depicts Harvey Dent and his story the way you described, he will have failed me as a director. Sorry for being so rude before. I see you're a fair and reasonable person as well as a rabid TDK fan like myself. This really could be a good conversation.

Sorry slysnide, I know you worked hard writing all that stuff. But I can't help but feel they're the ravings of a madman. Chris Nolan didn't read any of the comics when he and David S. Goyer wrote the Dark Knight, it wasn't 'til afterwards that they realized their Joker was similar to the 40's version. You're whole rant about Harvey Dent is particularly irritating to a Two-Face fan such as myself. He doesn't become Two-Face because he's "frustrated", he becomes Two-Face because he gets freaking acid poured on his face and goes insane. The guy is scarred so horribly BECAUSE he's so successful in apprehending the criminals and the corrupt. And he's "profiled" as a criminal because he KILLS PEOPLE. And he is definitely crazy because he flips a coin to make decisions, disguising chance as fate. The guy is nuts and that is cool.

Just wanted to get that stuff off my chest. I can usually restrain myself but, in this case, I just couldn't let these false assumptions about my favorite schizophrenic rogue go unchallenged.
