No, they are not. No movie is perfect, because if a movie were perfect then every other movie that came before and every movie to come after would so pale in comparison to perfection that the entire medium of film would lose all relevance and essentially cease to exist. It's the same with any art form. Perfection is unattainable. As much as I enjoy a lot of the movies you've listed there, none of them are perfect. As enjoyable as the ones I've seen are, I cant think of flaws in all of them. Art was never meant to be perfect.
@monkeyiron2-0 Perfect movies don't exist. If they did, there would be no purpose in making movies anymore.
Halfway through Angel Fire East by Terry Brooks, the last book in The Word and the Void Trilogy, and then I plan on starting The Hunger Games. Also reading The Gunslinger Born graphic novel (I freakin' love anything Dark Tower right now).
@ROFLitschristian Dude, don't let that stop you. I recently moved for university and I know barely anyone here, so I go to movies by myself a lot. I mean, it's a movie, more often you go for the film, not for the company.
@shuabert Okay, that makes more sense. I was imagining it differently. Perhaps he's looking for a way to bring some of the darker aspects of the comic books back then.
I'll be honest, I was actually kind of hoping they were grooming his character to actually be the Governor in the show. He's the right kind of character, and he already has the motivation to be out for the group's blood. With all the time he's been gone from the show, it seemed like a possibility. Oh well, it was a long shot anyway.
I'm pretty sure his description of "tough, edgy, funny, and completely loveable" is an oxymoron. Are some of them edgy and some of them funny? It's pretty hard to have both in the same character, Michael. And another thing: kid's don't need elaborate reasoning behind characters to believe in them, kid's just believe. Kid's believe in Superman, Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny, and there is just as little logic to support the existence of those entities as genetically mutated turtles.

@redcameraman Perhaps you'd like to explain your reasoning as to why you don't like it. Logic demands that unless you can support your opinion your opinion has no value.

Not the tone I was expecting at all, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.
This sounds like a great idea. It reminds of the episode of Angel where he gets transformed into a puppet.

I have the same problem. I've accidently selected a few movies in Face Off that I haven't seen, but the remove button won't work to get rid of them.
@addiction-non-fatal I'm going to suggest you go watch some Buffy the Vampire Slayer, or some Firefly, or anything by Joss Whedon. Whedon has the singular ability to juggle multiple characters in the same narrative with exceptional balance between them and between development and action. I'm confident he can bring that talent to the table in both this Avengers and hopefully its sequels. Comic book characters should be relatable. That's one of the things that makes comic books themselves so attractive, even their early days when they were written far more colourful and exaggerated than most are today. Even if they aren't personally relatable, they are still flawed. Iron Man is one of the best comic book movies ever made because it explores who Tony Stark is without Iron Man, and that defines him as a hero. Whedon knows what's at stake, so it's unlikely that he won't deliver.

@siezetheidea I also don't see how the success of Matt Damon has anything to do with another actor filling in the same archetype (though a different character). That's like saying they shouldn't have made any Bond movies after Sean Connery quit because he was so popular in the role. It doesn't make sense.
ParkWilliams wrote a comment about the news item The Bourne Legacy Trailer!
@siezetheidea You're logic is greatly flawed. First of all, of course this character exemplifies the characteristics of Jason Bourne, that's kind of the point here. By defying those in control and uncovering the truth, Bourne has opened the way for others to fight the system as well. It's been obvious from the start the direction they are taking Renner's character, at least in part. It's the whole reason that it's still being called a Bourne movie regardless of Jason Bourne's absence. I really don't see the logic in claiming that it won't carry on the epic, nor that it shouldn't be released. The original trilogy is so loosely based on the novels that any complaint about it not being a proper adaptation is moot, because the film series has already broken away from that greatly.

Cautiously optimistic. The cast looks impressive, but it's hard to see story not suffer without Damon's character. He really was the driving force in the first trilogy, and he was the vehicle through which the audience experienced the film. I don't know how well they'll be able to capture that in this one, but I hope so. I'm sure it will be a half-decent action film regardless, but the first three went far beyond that.

@skid-marx I never even noticed that. Haha. Let's try this again then:
